Why this site exists
Searching for a Douro day trip returns a wall of near-identical promises: two wineries, lunch, a boat, five stars. What the results rarely tell you is where those tours actually differ, which ones start in Pinhão instead of Porto, what a tasting costs bought alone, or what the half-day variant quietly drops from the full-day version. The valley has room for every format, from the 27-seat coach to two brothers and a manor house, but only if the differences are stated plainly.
That is the whole job of this site: put the listings side by side with their trade-offs attached, and let the traveller pick the shape of their day before the price comparison starts.
Where the facts come from
Tour prices, durations, ratings, review counts, inclusions and restrictions are read from each operator's own listing on GetYourGuide, in US dollars, on the date shown on each page. Every tour page carries the same fields in the same order, so a price on this site can always be traced back to a listing.
Route facts, train times and regional practicalities are checked against official sources: Comboios de Portugal for the railway, VisitPortugal for national travel information, and the UNESCO World Heritage documentation for the landscape itself. We re-check the figures on a quarterly cycle, and the comparison tables carry the quarter they were last read. When a listing changes its price or drops an inclusion, the change reaches this site at the next check rather than the same day, which is exactly why every page shows its dates and links the live listing.
How this site earns
The site is free to read because of affiliate commissions. When a traveller books a tour through a link here, the booking platform pays a commission at no extra cost to the traveller.
